The Bacon Hill Inn was built in 1862 by future State Senator
Alexander B. Baucus, a gentleman farmer as well as
statesman. Visitors today recognize the inn as largely
unchanged since that time. The trees are larger, and we
enjoy electricity, indoor plumbing and central air
conditioning, but the tranquil country setting and
comfortable private accommodations are much the same.
You are welcome to enjoy a full country breakfast or a
lighter spa menu is available. All of the rooms have
luxurious queen sized pillow-top mattresses, high thread
count cotton bedding, soft hypoallergenic comforters and
pillows, custom handmade soaps, lotions, shampoos and
conditioners made from fresh botanicals and herbs, and
comfortable robes.
The inn is surrounded by hundreds of acres of farmland and
rolling fields. The hammocks and screened gazebo under the
century old maples are perfect spots for lazy afternoons. It
is only a ten minute drive from the inn to downtown Saratoga
Springs.
Innkeeper Katie Cartwright is a licensed massage therapist
and it is possible to schedule a massage at the inn as part
of your stay. In addition, a relaxing outdoor hot tub spa
offers spectacular views of the fields surrounding the inn
as well as a dramatic view of the night sky.
